At Gulf Coast Medical Center we prioritize the health and safety of our patients. To ensure the highest quality of care and adherence to medical standards, we have implemented the following policy regarding prescription refills:
If you need a refill of your prescription, we kindly ask that you first contact your pharmacy directly. They can initiate the refill process and notify us if any further action is required.
We understand that our prescription refill policy may require additional planning and coordination, but it is designed to ensure the safety and well-being of our patients. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Office Visits Required for Prescription Refills:
- Policy Overview: In accordance with best medical practices and regulatory guidelines, prescription refills for ongoing medication management may require an office visit with one of our healthcare providers.
- Purpose of Office Visits: Office visits allow our healthcare providers to assess your current health status, review your medical history, and ensure the appropriateness of ongoing medication therapy.
- Medication Review and Adjustment: During your office visit, our healthcare providers will review your medication regimen, assess the effectiveness of your current treatment plan, and make any necessary adjustments based on your individual health needs.
- Patients requesting new prescriptions or antibiotics must be seen by their providers.
- Refills can only be authorized by medications prescribed by our providers. We cannot authorize refills for medications prescribed by other providers.
Patient Responsibility:
- Scheduling Appointing: Patients are responsible for scheduling office visits in advance to ensure timely prescription refills. We recommend scheduling appointments well in advance of running out of medication to avoid any interruptions in treatment.
- Insurance Coverage: Patients are advised to verify their insurance coverage for office visits and prescription medications to avoid any unexpected costs or coverage limitations.
Medications requiring Prior Authorization: We are committed to advocating for our patients' medication needs. In cases where extended processing times are encountered, be assured our healthcare team is working diligently with your insurance plan. - We reserve the right to process an administrative fee for multiple requests outside of an office visit.
